Philip brings a passion for teaching and nearly 20 years’ worth of professional singing experience to his studio. Whether you are an absolute beginner looking to find your unique voice, or an experienced singer hoping to refine your technique, Philip can take you to the next level. He works with singers ages 7 and up and adjusts each lesson to the needs of the individual singer. Every voice is unique and therefore each voice requires a unique approach and individualized attention. Philip teaches a technique based in the classical tradition that can be applied to many styles of singing from opera to musical theater!

Philip has studied with esteemed teachers including Manny Perez, Gerald Martin Moore, Jeremy Aye, Bruce Kelly, and Jo-Anne Bentley. Additionally, he has trained or performed with such legends as Sherrill Milnes, Joan Dornemann, Mignon Dunn, Håkan Hagegård, Steven Blier, and Kent Nagano. Philip was a member of the Atelier lyrique de l’Opéra de Montréal, completed graduate studies in Operatic Performance at the University of Toronto, and studied Drama and Music at Queen’s University. He received several prizes over the course of his career including a Special Prize from the Lotte Lenya Competition. Philip has performed over 25 roles throughout his journey in singing and has sung in Canada, USA, Italy, Israel, Ireland, Belgium, and the UK.
