About Paul Westgarth
A Passionate Music Teacher
I am a professional jazz/gospel Saxophone Teacher located in Cambridge. I started playing the keyboard at age 9 and then went further to learn and play other musical instruments with the saxophone being my major. I am highly skilled in playing and teaching several musical instruments, which include: Piano, Saxophone, Drums, Guitar, Clarinet, Bass, and giving Voice training. I really love teaching; it is my passion as I get the reward of helping my students express themselves freely through their chosen instruments. I also love teaching Mathematics and helping young people to discover their true abilities.
I believe everyone has the potential to achieve anything. You can become a pro in whatever instruments you desire to play with the right training and commitment. Over the years, most of my students have progressed to playing multiple instruments and some have also become teachers to other students. So whether you are learning for Exams purposes e.g ABRSM (The Associate Board of the Royal Schools of Music) or for pleasure, I’ll be delighted to work with you. I am flexible in terms of location, I can come to your home or if you choose, we can have the lesson at my location.
I have expertise in IT, Music production, voice training, and sound engineering and hold a Level 3 Award in Education and Training (formerly known as PTLLS). I am a very approachable and friendly person, I have vast experience of working with young people and adults for over 15 years. I have a DBS check which allows me to work with young people.
Course Materials
● There are several training materials that I usually recommend for students to purchase at their will.
● I always advise all my students to have their personal musical instruments to help facilitate the learning process. I am able to give professional advice on instruments should you want help in finding the right musical instrument to purchase for yourself.
