As well as performing with bands I have worked in several West End theatre shows including; ‘Good Rockin’ Tonite’, ‘Elvis The Musical’, ‘All You Need is Love’ and ‘Dancin’ In The Street’. I have played on many commercial recording sessions as well as performing on numerous advertisements including, Bodyform, After Eights, Phillips and Shell Oil.
I am a director of Madhen, providing live music for corporate and private parties throughout the world.
Paul's teaching/recording studio is at home in rural South Lincolnshire. Housed in an adapted log cabin, the studio is soundproofed and fully equipped for recording and teaching acoustic drums.
Teaching takes place in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere and accommodates all styles and levels. Paul recommends weekly sessions of 30 or 60 minutes, but can flex to suit. Student performances can be recorded to a high quality - always recommended as it allows the student to listen back, highlight any weaknesses and track their progress.
The best lessons are closely tailored to suit the pupil. Students start from different levels of ability and have different ambitions and musical tastes. Paul believes it's essential to structure lessons accordingly. He is able to teach the Rockschool and Trinity London exam boards both of which have proved very popular among students.
Paul is also able to offer lessons online: in his opinion, the future of instrumental teaching will be blended face-to-face and online lessons.
Paul also teach electronic drums, sampling, midi etc, skills which are a necessity for any drummer in the music industry today.
