About Paul

Paul is a professional freelance drummer, recording and performing around the world for over 30 years. When not playing gigs or recording sessions, including in his home studio, he enjoys communicating his experience, knowledge and enthusiasm for music through his teaching practice.
Paul has loved every minute of his 30 years as a professional drummer, and is passionate about passing on what he has learned. From beginner to advanced levels, from traditional techniques to drum programming/sampling, Paul can help you get the most out of your love of drums and music.

As well as performing with bands I have worked in several West End theatre shows including; ‘Good Rockin’ Tonite’, ‘Elvis The Musical’, ‘All You Need is Love’ and ‘Dancin’ In The Street’. I have played on many commercial recording sessions as well as performing on numerous advertisements including, Bodyform, After Eights, Phillips and Shell Oil.

I am a director of Madhen, providing live music for corporate and private parties throughout the world.

Paul's teaching/recording studio is at home in rural South Lincolnshire. Housed in an adapted log cabin, the studio is soundproofed and fully equipped for recording and teaching acoustic drums.

Teaching takes place in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere and accommodates all styles and levels. Paul recommends weekly sessions of 30 or 60 minutes, but can flex to suit. Student performances can be recorded to a high quality - always recommended as it allows the student to listen back, highlight any weaknesses and track their progress.
The best lessons are closely tailored to suit the pupil. Students start from different levels of ability and have different ambitions and musical tastes. Paul believes it's essential to structure lessons accordingly. He is able to teach the Rockschool and Trinity London exam boards both of which have proved very popular among students.
