About Pablo

Discover the sounds beyond the score with a Royal Academy of Music-trained composer, pianist, and conductor commissioned by world-leading ensembles.

Hi, I’m Pablo Martinez. I have 10 years of experience working with students of all ages across Ireland, Scotland, and now London. Alongside private teaching, I’ve held roles as a musicianship tutor at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and as musician-in-residence at Gordonstoun School.
I have recently completed my Master’s degree in Composition with Distinction from the Royal Academy of Music, and over the years, I've been lucky to receive commissions from renowned ensembles such as the London Sinfonietta and Red Note Ensemble, with performances at venues like the Southbank Centre and the Barbican.

What Are Lessons Like?
The lessons encompass a range of diverse methodologies and learning outcomes, always tailored to the specific pupil's needs. We will work together to build an appropriate path to your musical development, always considering performance as an important part of it. As an example, lessons could focus on performing classical, pop, film, or jazz music, or have a blended approach to repertoire covering a range of styles. They could also be more directed towards musicianship and theory, with guidance on composition and songwriting. For younger pupils, my methodology consists of a holistic approach that makes lessons enjoyable and fun, while encouraging independent learning and helping them achieve their best results.

Who I Teach
I’ve taught absolute beginners through to advanced musicians, from young children just starting out to adults discovering or rediscovering music later in life. Many of my students prepare for graded exams like ABRSM and Trinity, while others come to lessons to compose, improvise, or just play their favourite songs.
Whatever your goals, I’ll help you build the confidence and tools to enjoy music on your own terms.

Creative Support
If you’re interested in writing your own music, I can help you shape and develop your ideas. As a working composer, I bring real-world experience to lessons, and I love helping students bring their musical voice to life.
My students have written pieces for solo instruments, ensembles, voice, and electronics, and many use their lessons as a space to workshop and refine creative ideas. We’ll focus on practical tools like structur...
