About Olivia

Olivia studied Western Classical Music at Royal Northern College of Music and has a postgraduate degree in Jazz from Leeds College of Music. Olivia has also trained extensively in Mumbai, India from Indian violin Maestro Kala Ramnath.

Previous teaching experience includes The RNCM, The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, The Academy for Indian Culture and Education in Manchester and at Milapfest Arts School, Liverpool. She has also taught Western violin for approximately ten years at Manchester, Salford and Wigan Music Services.

Olivia loves to inspire and help the young and old on their musical journeys. By studying an instrument and Indian music in particular, she wants the pupil first and foremost to enjoy themselves.
She encourages and aims to give the pupil a rich appreciation of the building blocks of Hindustani music and a better grasp of the violin technique by setting achievable goals. She believes that the student can grow as an individual through focussed practice of their instrument and she requires her students to practice in between lessons.

“Olivia is a very sincere and friendly Violin teacher. She taught a Hindustani classical style of Music on Violin here in Art school. I would recommend her to Hindustani Style Violin students to learn from her”. Aditi (Head of Milapfest South Asian Arts School in Liverpool).

Please feel free to write Olivia a message if you are interested in signing up for lessons or have any questions.
