About Myrna Tennant
Dutch/British mezzo-soprano Myrna is a classical/opera singer and music teacher. She studied at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (BMus Hons 1st Class) and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (MPerf Distinction) and is now working as a freelance performer across Britain and abroad.
As well as performing, Myrna is very passionate about teaching. She has 7+ year of teaching experience, working with students of all ages and abilities. She mostly teaches 1:1 but has also taught small and larger groups, and is experienced working with students with Additional Support Needs.
Myrna's teaching style is based in classical vocal technique, specialising in teaching classical Art Song and opera repertoire, however lessons are tailored to the needs and wishes of each individual student and she also teaches musical theatre and folk music.
Focus is always placed on the importance of breathing technique and body awareness for natural vocal production, finding your true sound and the confidence to unleash it.
Myrna's philosophy in teaching is that singing should be rewarding, engaging, and fun!
