Ada Chan was a delightful mentor to have during my lesson with her. She has broaden my understanding about performance which i value a lot when it comes to playing the piano. My approach towards the piece i’m currently working on (Clair de Lune) have became more thoughtful in a way that will help me internalised the meanings behind every actions and expressions. I gratefully appreciated her analogies that the piece’s notes should flow and connect with one another to form a sort of round shape where i see myself travelling through. Ada guided me through meditative techniques that such as singing along with the piece, confidently imagining myself playing and emphasise being ready mentally before reaching for the notes. The first lesson was certainly filled with knowledge and perspective that i wouldn’t have found elsewhere as a new player of the piano. Thank you Ada! I look forward on consulting you more as i gain more progression through my journey with the tools and lessons you’ve bestowed to me! John
