About Miriam
Hi, I'm Miriam,
Over the past 7 years, i've taught cabaret, jazz, classical, opera, music theatre, folk and pop singing to students of all ages and abilities.
I pride myself on being an inclusive teacher - my studio is a safe space where we work from a place of mutual respect. I also have an added qualification in vocal health, so i can help you with your technique, knowledge of vocal anatomy, performance skills and how to care for your voice when you need it to work hard!
I'm a professional singer with 18 years experience in the opera/classical industry and have had experience singing all the styles i teach. I was a very nervous performer when i first started out and I really understand the challenges of being both the instrument AND the performer.
I love helping people gain vocal confidence so let's have an introductory lesson, online or in person, and we can set up a plan of action tailored to your needs!
In person lessons happen at;
St Saviour's Church, Brockley Rise SE23 1JN
Nearest station is Honor Oak Park.
Please contact me to enquire about availability before making any payment.
General teaching days
Monday 12-5pm
Wednesday 12-5pm
Thursday 12-9pm
Online lessons - please ask about availability as not always available depending on student numbers.
24 hour cancellation policy applies to all bookings.
I have;
-Coached students through ABRSM and Trinity exams with very good results.
-Good grounding in French, German, Italian and Russian and can help with text translations, interpretation as well as classical and opera repertoire choice. Please note that my training is classical, so I have gaps in my MT repertoire knowledge, but I have experience singing this style and have worked with many students on it.
Please get in touch with some information about yourself (or the intended student) and any questions you might have!
A couple of reviews from current and past students:
I started having lessons with Miriam three and half years ago because although I'd sung from a child, I had not sung very much for years and had always wanted to have singing lessons to develop the technical aspects. Miriam has taught me so much about how to breathe and how to get the best out of my voice, as well as introducing me to songs that I wou...
