As an adult beginner, I was a little worried that the lessons might not be able to hold my interest. However, Megumi has made every lesson interesting and informative, with clear guidance on how I can improve. I would recommend her to any adult looking to start out with the violin.

Megumi was a fantastic teacher for my 6 yr old boy starting violin. She was patient and had a great way of explaining tricky things. She would play games at the end of sessions to help explain certain things and he would always come out having enjoyed the lesson. Thank you Megumi.

Megumi is an excellent teacher. She has been really patient with me. She noticed my mistakes before I got used to it and gave me techniques that helped me with my stiffness. Before i started i thought age would be a barrier, but she always highlighted the plus points which encouraged learning. Would definitely recommend her as a teacher.

Megumi is lovely, knowledgeable and caring. I would recommend her in heartbeat. Returning to the violin after 25 years, Megumi is working through previously learnt bad habits, with fun and logical techniques for me to practise. I really enjoy the theoretical music work in lessons as well, it really helps me understand what the piece is asking for. She listens, she cares. A wonderful teacher with an attention to detail on making sure you get the fundamentals correct. Megumi has been teaching my little one both piano and violin and I can notice the vast improvement in his technique which will help him immensely in the long run. The lessons are engaging, interactive and challenging at the same time. It has helped him build an enthusiasm for both instruments as he continues with his grading.

My nine year old daughter has been seeing Megumi for the past 6 months and from quite a basic understanding of violin (some short lessons in school), has really developed her skills quickly, and can now play 4-5 songs, as well as learning to read music. Megumi is installing a real love of playing the violin using the Suzuki method book and my daughter is learning a lot, and enjoying it!

I began learning to play the violin with Megumi about 10 weeks ago. Prior to this I hadn’t even picked up a violin and couldn’t read music at all. Megumi provided recommendations for a first violin and additional helpful purchases and helped me to get set up/ learn how to hold the violin, tune it etc. Throughout the lessons, Megumi has been incredibly patient with me and paced the lessons very well to accommodate the large number of new things I am trying to take in all at once. She also follows up with helpful videos which I use to aid my practice. I really appreciate her honest and encouraging approach as well as the advice and tips she provides. I enjoy the lessons and am making faster progress than I ever expected. Very grateful to have found Megumi – a highly skilled teacher! I look forward to more lessons!
