About Matthew L BA PGCE LTCL ATCL MISM
Matthew completed his PGCE teacher training at UCL and is a highly experienced violin teacher who prepares students for violin grades 1 to 8 and diploma. Matthew offers face to face tuition at his home in Canary Wharf.
Matthew recently advised as part of a team of experts on the new violin syllabus for Trinity College London 2020-2023.
After studying viola and having master classes with concert viola player Simon Rowland-Jones, Matthew achieved a high distinction in his Licentiate diploma with Trinity College London. He also holds an Associate diploma on the Violin.
In 2016 Matthew performed baroque viola led by renowned baroque violinist Simon Standage and the Linden Baroque Orchestra alongside the Berlin Cathedral Choir in a memorial concert.
Matthew is an enthusiastic teacher who enjoys the challenge of preparing students for both Trinity and ABRSM exams as well as helping students develop their skills as violinists.
Lessons are carefully planned and recent students have managed to achieve a distinction at grade 2 and grade 5 violin.
