About Marsailidh

Marsailidh is an award-winning freelance musician based in Edinburgh. She is a dedicated teacher with over ten years’ experience and believes music making should include people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds.

While she has experience in the Suzuki method of teaching, Marsailidh’s own approach is based on the individual. She invests in the interests of her students and believes an effective way to maintain motivation is to combine goal-oriented practice (like working towards an exam) with playing for the sake of enjoyment.

Marsailidh has performed across the UK and abroad with orchestras including the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, London Mozart Players and Her Ensemble. She graduated from the Royal College of Music, London in 2018 with a Master of Performance with Distinction and was given a first-class award in Instrumental Teaching. During her studies she was awarded a scholarship supported by the Derek Butler Trust and won the Unaccompanied Bach Prize in 2018.

Marsailidh offers tuition in violin, viola and piano and can give face to face lessons in Edinburgh or online.
