Hi! My name is Mario, and I’m a friendly and encouraging drum teacher from Enfield, North London. I offer drum lessons ranging from beginner to intermediate levels for all ages (that includes older students!). I’ve worked professionally as a session musician with artists from both the UK and the US, and I’ve played various live gigs and festivals (The Great Escape, Close-Up Festival, 110 Above Festival).

I’m a self-taught musician who learned by playing along to music. This is the method I’d recommend to students as you achieve a sense of fulfilment when you’re playing your favourite songs! Not only will I teach you the drumming fundamentals, but I’ll also teach you methods on how to learn songs; writing charts, understanding structure, breaking up a groove and more! These are methods I use daily when learning new repertoire for artists.

My teaching approach is based on making lessons fun and engaging whilst working towards set goals. I believe that through building an interest/passion for music within lessons, students become encouraged to maintain practice at home. I achieve this by making my lessons a fun space for students to embrace their creative potential.

I tailor my lessons to my student’s goals. We can work through any particular songs you enjoy listening to, or we could go through any grading curriculum you’re working towards. Within each lesson, I’ll ensure you're learning drumming fundamentals such as technique, rudiments, patterns and grooves to ensure you progress with each lesson. I’m also happy to provide sheet music and video resources to aid your learning :)
