About Maria
Maria's teaching is rooted in classical vocal technique, because it gives singers a strong foundation that can be used across many styles of music. I focus on helping students develop healthy breathing and full vocal control, so they can sing with freedom and confidence.
No matter what level you’re at, whether you sing purely for enjoyment or are working towards something more professional, singing is a powerful way to connect with yourself and your true voice. The sheer joy of singing can release tension, improve wellbeing, and create a real sense of freedom.
Singing can also help with posture, breathing, focus, and emotional expression. As technique develops, confidence grows. That feeling of achievement doesn’t just stay in the lesson. It often carries into other areas of life too.
Maria made her début at the Royal Festival Hall under the bâton of Sir Andrew Davis, a performance which was broadcast live on BBC radio. Moreover, during the past eighteen years or so, she has appeared in numerous productions at the Royal Opera House, and has worked as a soloist at the Royal Ballet with distinguished conductors such as Sir Antonio Pappano. Meanwhile, Maria has added to her repertoire by working in several musicals, including Guys And Dolls, West Side Story and A Little Night Music, and by singing jazz with a Gypsy Swing Band at Chelsea Arts Club and at a series of jazz concerts in Lanzarote. Currently, Maria recently performed at Windsor castle with the Royal Opera in the Coronation concert and is currently performing at the Royal Opera House.
