Hello! My name is Mahaliah and I believe in high-quality music education for everyone. I have 8 years of teaching experience and have studied to understand teaching, learning and pedagogy with MA in Music Education (Trinity Laban Teaching Musician MA) 2024 and I have a Certifcate of Music Educators (2020). I deliver bespoke violin tuition for a range of abilities from beginner to advanced, starting from age 4 onwards. My teaching practice and thoughts on Music Education have been featured in media both online and in print i.e. Music Teacher Magazine, The Stad podcast, ISM Journal. Finally, other parts of my work included working with other teachers, running CPD sessions and helping them develop more diverse and inclusive repertoire choices in their teaching. I have been a consultant for ABRSM and have worked with other exam boards who have utilised my experience as an educator.

Using various teaching approaches, my teaching incorporates many musical skills including reading stave notation, and developing a musical aural awareness as a base in order to help each student achieve their musical aspirations. I focus on maintaining a positive and imaginative learning environment enabling any student of any ability or age to excel in their lessons and practice at home.

From graded exams to playing for fun, I put the student at the centre of their musical education and tailor lessons to each individual's needs and goals. Furthermore, the repertoire I choose encompasses music of diverse origins and provenances and includes students own choices.
