About LucyRose
Lucy-Rose began playing piano at the age of 4 and cello aged 8. She has various grade 8 music exams, a diploma on cello and studied cello performance under the tutorage of leading cellists at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester., graduating with BMus (Hons) in 2019.
As a professional performing musician, Lucy-Rose has travelled across the country and Europe playing in various orchestras and groups, from opera and classical to jazz and pop. She has performed solo concerts and concertos such as the Saint-Saens cello concerto in Kings College Cambridge.
Lucy-Rose has been teaching for over 15 years both privately and in schools across the UK having had students receive scholarships to their chosen secondary schools as well as go onto study music at university. With 100% success rate on all students who have taken music exams, Lucy-Rose is committed to making lessons fun and enjoyable as well as informative
Lucy-Rose has experience teaching children as young as 4 years old as well as adults who have been 80+ - no matter the age or standard of the student she is always happy to help you be the best musician you can whilst tailoring all lessons to the student.
Lucy-Rose has written many productions for schools and community choirs as well as having coordinated various workshops and concerts aimed at families and children. As well as working with children, Lucy-Rose has arranged concerts for care homes residents and local rehabilitation services, either through one off visits or a series of workshops and concerts.
As an advocate for mental health, Lucy-Rose is a sound therapist and also holds various NHS accredited mental health certificates which aid in her teaching as well as her level 3 counselling skills certificate. This training helps with both her teaching and outreach work as she aims to use music to bring people joy and an escape where needed.
