About Lottie Piano

PROFILE:
Lottie is a professional singer-pianist based in Oxford, with over 10 years’ experience teaching performance to children and young people. Her piano-singing lessons are for children, young people, and adults interested in learning how to sing popular songs on the piano by ear while self-accompanying on piano, with a focus on musicality, performance skills, and confidence.

FOR PARENTS:
Lottie offers piano and singing lessons to children and young people between the ages of 7 and 17. The lessons will be tailored to what your child is interested in learning, based on their experience level. Please note there will be no sight-reading or sheet music involved in these lessons. Lottie's lessons are designed to improve musicality by learning by ear, as well as improving confidence levels and performance skills.

Lottie also offers fun and energetic music sessions to children from the ages of 18 months to 6 years.

Please note these lessons are not suitable for exam prep or ABRSM study.

FOR ADULTS:
If you love playing and singing popular music for fun, whether you are are just starting out, hoping to improve your music skills, or preparing for a performance, Lottie could be the teacher for you. Learn how to play songs by ear, learn vocal techniques to improve your voice strength, and learn how to accompany yourself on the piano while singing. These lessons are tailored to what you enjoy: let Lottie know what kind of music you are interested in learning, and she will create a lesson plan based on your interests.

EXPERIENCE:
Lottie has a first-class honours degree in Music from Royal Holloway University of London, with a specialism in Performance. Lottie believes in treating young performers like professionals in order to give them the most enjoyable and rewarding experience, and she is an advocate for supporting each performer to make them feel fully at ease and confident in their abilities. She has experience teaching children and young people from the ages of 18 months to 17 years old, having worked as an English teacher in Spain, a music & drama educator in nurseries, and having been commissioned to write music and lyrics for two Shakespeare musicals for a secondary school for which she was musical director.
