I teach piano and harp to students of all ages, from children to adults. I suggest being at least 6 years old to start on either instrument, but sometimes 5-year-olds are ready earlier! At the other end of the spectrum, it's never to late to start learning if you're an adult beginner!

I teach from complete beginners all the way to grade 8 on both harp and piano. I place a strong emphasis on reading notation, as it's so important to becoming an independent musician, but I also work on good technique, musicality, ear-training, improvisation, theory, and more. If students want to work towards grade exams I am always happy to assist, but there is no pressure to do this if it doesn't match with your goals. Equally, I can help prepare for performances and auditions if needed - just let me know what your musical aims are.
