About Linda
As an experienced music teacher, Linda currently offers tuition to children and adults, from beginner to advanced level, in their own homes in the town of Malvern. She also offers online lessons to adults.
She believes the benefits of learning a musical instrument are varied and should be an enjoyable and fulfilling experience whereby a student can fully develop their musical potential. Lessons are tailored to the student’s needs, interests and aspirations which enables them to progress, achieve and really enjoy playing.
As an experienced teacher, she will guide you in your learning and enjoyment of playing classical, jazz or light music. Learning sessions are 30 minutes, 45 minutes or 1 hour in length depending on the student’s needs and preferences. Useful advice on purchasing an instrument and on the suitability of learning materials can be given.
There is the option for students to enter for the ABRSM examinations and she is able to give coaching in sight-reading and aural skills. Music theory can be inclusive during the piano lesson or covered in more detailed, separate study sessions either in the home or online.
Linda has a B. Ed (Hons) degree in specialist music. She has studied piano and flute to performance level as well as music education and teaching techniques. Harmony and musical arrangement for educational purposes have also been part of her studies.
