About Leo

Would you like to be fluent in the language of music? Through fun, flowing lessons, I can make the journey as easy as possible for you.

I have 7 years of experience teaching the full spectrum of players, from 5 year old complete beginners to 60 year old hobbyists to 20 year old music university students. Whatever your level, I understand where you’re at and can show you the way forward to get the most fulfillment out of your playing. I have learned how to get students to progress while never making it feel like they’re out of their depth. I value creating a lifelong love of music and practice and putting students in a flow state above everything else.

My students have a wide variety of goals - whether you want to learn your favourite songs, complete grade exams, learn music theory, train your ear, get better at composing and songwriting, level up your technique, or just wax philosophical about music, I’ll always keep what you want from the lessons and how you learn best in mind so you can become the musician you want to be.

I started playing at 9 years old and spent my upbringing in love with music, learning from great teachers, writing music, and playing in rock and folk bands. At 15 I made it my mission to learn everything I could about music and become a master of the guitar, and went on to complete a 4 year degree in jazz guitar at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, where I won multiple awards while performing around the city. Now, I collaborate with some of the best players and singers London has to offer, and share the knowledge and enthusiasm I have accrued over continual years of deep study.

I teach from my home in Brixton, 5 minutes from the tube and train stations, and online. I have experience teaching rock, folk, pop, classical and jazz, and teaching from ABRSM classical, Rockschool acoustic and electric, and Trinity electric grade syllabuses. I hold an enhanced DBS certificate. I have experience teaching children with ADHD and autism. I have a full size and ¾ size guitar you can use if you or your child want to try out playing before purchasing a guitar.

If you’re interested in getting lessons from me, send me a message letting me know where you’re at in your guitar journey, what you’re hoping to learn, and any questions you have. I hope to hear from you soon!
