About Laureline M.
Laureline has been a Clarsach player for 14 years, and teaching for 6. The Clarsach is the Scottish/Irish traditional lever harp, slightly smaller than a classical harp but just as beautiful! Teaching classical, traditional and contemporary music, she offers lessons to all levels: beginners to advanced. She is experienced in teaching all age ranges from primary school children to mature students. She has also performed in a trad group, a harp trio, played in a classical orchestra and graduated with a degree in Music from University of Glasgow. She has 6 years experience working with children in the Feisean nan Gaidheal traditional music organisation, where she has taught a variety of ages and seen students graduate to the Royal Conservatoire. She has also led and organised concerts as part of this role, and is experienced with many different genres; and participates in music festivals annually as part of her role.
Laureline adopts a flexible and relaxed approach to teaching, with each lesson tailored to your individual needs and wants - whether that be exams and strengthening technique, or playing for fun and in creative ways. She fosters a friendly and pressure-free environment where learning is led by you, and open discussion with students and parents allows her to cultivate and build your musicianship, as well as a love for music.
She offers online and in-person lessons (within the local area - please message for more information!), owning or renting a harp is strongly recommended, although for beginners and those who would like to try out harp lessons without commitment this is not strictly necessary.
If interested in learning more about online/in-person lessons, or if you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to message Laureline and see if she's right for you!
