About Laura
Hello, I’m Laura, and I love teaching singing.
There’s something really special about helping people connect with their voice, whether they’re just starting out or refining their technique. Watching someone grow in confidence and truly enjoy their singing is what makes this work so rewarding.
My own singing journey has given me the privilege of performing at festivals such as Shambala, Secret Garden Party, Boomtown, and Cheltenham Jazz Festival, as well as supporting artists across the UK’s underground music scene. These experiences have shown me just how powerful singing can be, not only as a skill, but as a way of expressing something deeply personal.
I hold a Master’s degree in Songwriting from Bath Spa University and have trained with BAST, which has deepened my understanding of voice science and functional technique. My teaching is centred around finding balance in the voice, by which I mean singing with freedom, ease, and without unnecessary tension. When the voice is in balance, the muscles work together efficiently, allowing you to sing expressively and safely.
The Way I Work
Lessons are fully tailored to your voice, experience, and goals. I’ll design exercises that gently guide you towards more flexibility, stability, and vocal freedom, always with care and encouragement. If you’d like, I can send a summary after each session, outlining what we covered and how to practise between lessons. That time outside of lessons is where real progress happens, and I’m here to support that journey.
Most importantly, singing should feel good. I hold a safe, welcoming, and non-judgemental space where you’re free to explore your voice without pressure or fear, especially if you’re new or feeling unsure.
What I Offer
Singing lessons that focus on technique, breath, tone, performance, and vocal confidence
Songwriting support to help shape your ideas and express yourself through music
Beginner guitar tuition for those who want to accompany themselves
Breath and mindset techniques from my training as a qualified yoga facilitator
Lessons for ages 8 and up (please note: for students aged 14+, lessons are 45 minutes minimum)
Why Songwriting?
Songwriting can be an incredibly therapeutic way to explore and express what’s hard to say out loud. You don’t need experience, just curiosity. I offer a safe, creative space to explore so...
