About Laura
Laura has established herself as a prominent freelance harpist in London with a passion for teaching. She owns a Master's degree from Trinity Laban Conservatory of Music and Dance. She also successfully completed two music degrees, from Conservatorio Superior de Música de Aragón, in Spain, and a Bachelor's degree (Hons), from Trinity Laban Conservatory of Music and Dance. She actively plays with orchestras around London and Spain as well as doing solo and chamber work. She teaches pedal and lever harp, and a variety of music styles such as classical, pop, traditional, folk, etc. Laura owns and plays both pedal and lever harp. She keeps them at her home and can be used by all her students at lessons. She also offers online tuition if preferred by the pupil.
Laura has more than six years of experience teaching kids from an early age to adults. Each lesson is tailored to help the pupil achieve their full potential and suit their individual needs, that being working towards exams or playing just for fun. She also has experience doing workshops in schools and nurseries, hospitals, and working with groups.
Laura always make sure all pupils enjoy their lessons giving a friendly and fun approach to them. Regardless of age and skill level she wants her students to be able to enjoy their time practicing and playing. She can prepare students for all grades of the ABRSM and exams of other boards, and she complements the lessons with music theory and aural skills training when needed. She also offers music theory lessons, that being to complement music education, prepare for the ABRSM music theory exams or just to expand the knowledge in that area.
The approach for in-person and online tuition are quite similar. She effectively teaches using both methods with great results in both. When online, Laura makes sure they are of exceptional quality and the pupil gets the same results they would get in person. They are ideal if traveling is a limitation for the student or if the student wishes to take them from the comfort of their home using their own instrument. If preferred, Laura can also give the lessons in Spanish.
