About Laura
Laura began learning music at the age of 6 by joining a choir, singing as a soprano until the age of 18 and enrolling in choir competitions such as the Graz World Choir Championship. Having started her classical conservatoire career at the age of 9, she finished twelve years of Spanish classical education (obtaining the equivalent to ATCL Diploma) and specialised in viola performance. In 2017 Laura graduated from Newcastle University with a BMus in Music, majoring in electronic production and composition, tutored by Michael Gerrard, viola of the Northern Symphonia. She also spent a year abroad in Italy at the Conservatorio di Musica "F. Morlacchi" doing composition with Edgar Alandia and Alessio Sabella. She continues to perform as an electronic producer and singer as well as a session violinist and improvising performer in Newcastle.
She has tutored several subjects throughout her education and later musical career, and has volunteered as a violin teacher on several occasions, to both adults and children. She also thinks it is essential to be creative, so would encourage to improvise and write music. Laura firmly believes in music's therapeutic use, as well as being an exercise in discipline and creativity.
