About Katherine
ONLINE OR IN-PERSON WORCESTER ONLY Kath is a singer / pianist and a widely experienced band musician; primarily in vocals, but also on keyboard to accompany other soloists.
In London she sang with several function bands for corporate events and weddings. These
included the Royal Marines Function Band at the Officers’ Mess, Norton Barracks, and supporting Ray Mc Vay; Marti Caine; Tom O’ Connor and other popular artists at the Hilton, Park Lane W1. Music performed in clubs was mainly popular and contemporary; but sometimes, with a big band setting she sang arrangements of jazz standards.
She later toured Europe with a fascinating band called Ripzmag on some anti – drug trafficking gigs. The original material was best described as a fusion of rock, punk and musical theatre.
Kath has also appeared at a number of jazz festivals; at Teignmouth; Great Yarmouth; Brecon and
Malvern, with some excellent musicians.
She later sang for contracts overseas in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Bahrain. Six nights per week brought home the reality of what hard work performing can be! She met her husband, Daniel in Dubai and after the third contract, they decided to settle in Worcester UK, a return home for Kath.
Since settling back in the UK, she has increasingly committed herself to music education, with individuals, in groups and in workshops. Over the last 20 years she has become driven by the desire to see students develop and achieve their goals. Seeing students grow, in confidence and self esteem, while developing their awareness is deeply gratifying to her.
Kath holds the following qualifications:
A BA hons in Humanities with music specialism
A Certificate of Education and Training in the Lifelong Learning Sector; (a level 4 teaching
