About Kate

I graduated from the Royal Academy of Music (London) with a First-Class Honours degree. Whilst at the Academy, I also gained a Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Music teaching diploma. I studied ‘cello, piano and singing.

I have spent many years teaching and performing. Performances include with the London Symphony Orchestra and the Verbier Festival Orchestra (Switzerland). As part of a piano trio, I worked for Live Music Now; giving performances and workshops in special needs schools, hospitals and prisons.
For the last 15 years I spent much time overseas. I gained a PGCE and taught in British International schools where I also ran choirs and ensembles. I performed actively within the UAE. Performances at Dubai Opera House include with Andrea Bocelli, and with the Lebanese musician Guy Manoukian. I have sung on stage with the Rolling Stones in Abu Dhabi, performed with the National Symphony Orchestra in Emirates Palace, and featured as a soloist in the closing ceremony for the Special Olympics in 2019, playing with Keala Settle. Students follow by example and are inspired and encouraged by seeing their teachers perform.
I believe strongly in educating the whole child and the importance of pastoral care. I have completed the Foundation Counselling Skills certificate from the Institute of Counselling, and I was a volunteer for the Samaritans in Singapore.
I am now settled in the UK with my husband and family and am building up my own music studio.
