About Katarina
Katarina is a highly qualified and experienced piano teacher who performed music as a pianist, organist and choir conductor in Slovakia, where she achieved Master Degree in Music Teaching and Choir Conducting.
After her move to the UK she has been working as a private piano teacher and preparing her students for passing their grade exams successfully (ABRSM & Trinity) or learning to play piano for fun and enjoyment. She delivers her lessons online or face to face in the comfort of her students ' home for students of all ages and levels.
Katarina is passionate about music & teaching and her goal is to provide fun filled and interesting piano lessons that awake creativity and love for music in her students. She strives to deliver inspiring and engaging lessons using methods of simultaneous learning tailored to meet the students' needs and expectations, their differences and capture their interest and imagination, so her students feel special, cared for and successful.
She focuses on an importance of the proper piano technique (warm up at the beginning of the lesson, body & hand position, fingerings, scales & arpeggios practicing etc.), interpretation, good understanding of the texture and structure of the piece. Within the lessons she implements music theory facts and aural training related to the particular piece.
The most important thing about piano playing, Katarina believes, is passion, love, consistency and understanding. And she teaches her students accordingly.
