About Kamilla Dunstan

Kamilla has performed principal roles for companies such as The Royal Opera House, Glyndebourne and English National Opera.

Mezzo Soprano, Kamilla is a graduate of Guildhall School of Music & Drama, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and the Royal College of Music International Opera School.

Kamilla made her Royal Opera House debut as Ramise (Arminio, Handel) last April and covered Der Komponist in Opera North's production production of Ariadne auf Naxos (R. Strauss) (March, 2023).

Kamilla has worked with companies such as Glyndebourne, English National Opera, Garsington Opera, London Handel Festival and has been fortunate to perform in venues such as the Wigmore Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Sage Gateshead and St Paul’s Cathedral, London.

Kamilla continues to work within the industry alongside running her private teaching studio.

Kamilla set up her private teaching studio originally in New Zealand in 2006. The studio provides a fun and laid back learning environment that focuses on the individual.

Students have been offered places and gone onto train at leading performing arts schools such as the Royal College of Music (London), Royal Northern College of Music (Manchester), Urdang (London), Performers College (Essex), Body Works (Cambridge) and LIPA (Liverpool).

Students take part in external examinations such as ABRSM, Trinity Guildhall and London College of Music.

Students have competed in national competitions such as the Worksop Festival of Music & Drama, Robin Hood Festival and David Clover Festival of Singing (Sheffield). In both 2019 & 2020 students enjoyed success in every class, awards included 1st, 2nd & 3rd places, winning overall age groups and most promising talent.

Kamilla also holds annual concerts locally where students are invited to perform with a professional pianist to showcase the work they have being doing at the studio. The studio also wants to provide a safe and friendly environment where students can test out new techniques, take risks and more importantly have fun!

​Kamilla was a previous ABRSM Scholar, Polonsky Fellow (Aspen Music Festival & School, USA) and Wagner Stipendien (Bayreuth Festspiele, Germany).
