About Julie

Julie is a Danish/British clarinetist educated at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen and The Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. She has performed with a number of Danish orchestras and ensembles and has a special interest in improvisation, new music and cross-arts projects.

Julie has several years of experience teaching adults and children of all ages and always strives to create a positive and playful learning environment.
The classes will be tailored to the individual student, e.g. regarding the choice of repertoire, so that the student will find it fun, challenging and motivating to work with music. Working towards exams is also an option.

Classes will include working on:
Posture - Breathing - Reading music - Rhythm and pulse - Aural exercises -
Practicing techniques - Musical expression and phrasing - Classical and free improvisation
amongst other things.

To play the clarinet involves working with the body, breath, mind and emotions. In the classes all these elements will be touched upon in different ways depending on the students level, age and interests. Julie will also focus on practice techniques and help the student create fun and efficient practice routines. Regardless how much or how little time you have available, playing a musical instrument can be a stimulating and valuable addition to your everyday life.

Feel free to get in touch if you have any questions or special requests.
