Josie is an enthusiastic and friendly tutor who is eager to share her love for music. She specialises in piano and woodwind and teaches a variety of genres. She has experience teaching ages from 4 upwards at all levels of difficulty.

If you wish to take graded exams, Josie is able to prepare you for this. She believes that the most important thing about music lessons is that the student is enjoying what they are learning so lessons are focused around what the they would benefit from the most, whether that be exams, building their confidence, or learning a new skill for fun!

She has grade 8 in piano and saxophone, and clarinet. She also has grade 6 in music theory.

What will your first lesson look like?
If you’ve never had a music lesson before, she would recommend thinking about what sort of music you would like to play so we can work on this together. If you have played before, then feel free to bring any previous material so she can assess what your current ability is. Teaching will take place at Josie’s house, and for piano students, they will play on a Yamaha P-125 which is a weighted electric piano. Music stands are provided for saxophone and clarinet students.
