Teaching in Guitar:
Jonathan teaches Guitar (Acoustic and Electric), Music Theory and Composition from beginner to advanced students. His students feel welcomed, accommodated for and have a wide access to success on their instrument. Jonathan is well experienced and passionate about working with both young learners and more mature musical developers, with current students ranging from 6 - 70. He pays attention to the needs and goals of each individual student and together will develop a musical action plan to ensure structure and success. Jonathan always brings a high level of energy and friendly enthusiasm to his students!
Teaching in Theory:
Music is not a mystery - it's easy once you know how!
Jonathan enjoys providing students with a practical comprehensive knowledge base that can be applied to their instrumental playing, composition and listening to music. This can include preparation for music theory exams and grades.
Teaching in Composition:
Jonathan is a modern music specialist, and provides compositional tuition and coaching within all modern music styles. Whether you are hoping to write your first song or already finishing your 3rd album, he focuses on providing you with the knowledge and skills to justify your compositional decisions, consider how these impact your music and what are the next steps for improvement.
First Lesson:
Above all, the first lesson will be a fun and relaxed meeting - not at all to be worried about! For guitar lessons, make sure you have an instrument that you can use. It is always useful if you prepare to share examples of the music that you like to listen to, or if you are already playing you can prepare something you would like to perform.
