Jon has studied piano from a young age achieving grade 8 piano, alongside his other disciplines cornet and music theory. As a performer, he has played in many venues across the UK and abroad, both as part of an ensemble and as a solo performer.

He graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama with a BMus (Hons) degree in Composition and Creative Music Technology. Jon's studies have allowed him to have a better understanding of both the instruments he plays and their music repertoires, by being able to study the theory and musical reasons behind each composition.

Jon encourages an all-rounded approach to his students learning, whilst making each lesson fun and unique to the pupil. Whether that’s learning your new favourite song, or taking graded exams.

Alongside teaching, Jon works as a self-employed composer, orchestrator and copyist in the film and TV industry.
