My 11-year-old son has been having weekly lessons with Joel for the past couple of months. He has made excellent progress so far and really looks forward to his lesson each week. Joel is a talented guitarist and a great teacher. He has tons of patience and, most importantly, keeps my son interested and enthusiastic about learning guitar. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Joel as a teacher to both adults and kids.

I've hired Joel as a guitarist and producer on several video game soundtracks. Not only is he reliably capable of playing technically challenging guitar parts, he does so with a keen ear and advance sense of musicality. In addition to his excellent musicianship, I hire Joel time after time because he is patient, open to feedback and generally a delight to work with. As a music professor myself, I recognize that these are all traits that will make him a fantastic teacher.
