About Jessamy Skrimshire

Hello! My name is Jessamy, I am a professional violin and viola player with over 35 years experience. Currently I teach privately at my home in Suffolk.

I began my musical education at the age of 3 and was awarded a place at the Yehudi Menuhin School at 8 years old. I then gained a scholarship to study at the Royal College of Music. During this time I studied with Dr Felix Andrievsky, Simon Fisher, Simon Rowland-Jones, Mauricio Fuks and Yehudi Menuhin among others. My professional highlights include playing chamber music and experiencing performing all around the world. I have recorded for BBC Radio 3 and other radio stations worldwide. I have performed venues such as Wigmore Hall, The South Bank and Royal Albert Hall. I was also a founding member of the John Wilson Orchestra.

Every student is different. My teaching programs are tailored to the individual student, whether they be young or old, a beginner or advanced professional.

I have an excellent track record of bringing the greatest out of the students who walk through my door. One of my most treasured satisfactions is building rapport with students, encouraging them in their musical journey.

The most important thing I believe is that above all, music lessons should be fun and rewarding. I look forward to meeting you soon.
