About Jerome
Award winning baritone Jerome has been teaching experience of over 10 years and is here to help you become a better singer and performer.
Jerome studied with Dinah Harris and Russell Smythe at the Royal College of Music and latterly with Scott Johnson at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland where he continued his operatic studies. He has sung as a soloist with companies such as Glyndebourne, Scottish Opera, Garsington Opera, Waterperry Opera Festival and enjoys an international career performing in Germany, Switzerland and France. Now based in the Edinburgh area, Jerome has a vocal studio in Eskbank but also teaches online.
He has an holistic approach to vocal technique and teaches varying styles from classical song, opera and musical theatre to jazz and pop styles. He has particular experience with working with young voices and keen to inspire the next generation of vocal talent to achieve their potential. However, Jerome enjoys teaching students of all ages and abilities. Whether you have been singing all your life and want help with your technique to sing solos or as a choir member or whether you are a beginner, I will tailor my teaching to suit you.
I feel singing should always be an enjoyable and positive experience and I am an advocate for fun vocal exercises for students to smile and improve their technique.
Jerome has a wealth of performance experience and believes that good vocal technique and dramatic intention go hand in hand. It is important to work on technique but how we feel about the drama and connect with the music and words are vital to improving as a performer and artist.
