About Jennifer
* No current spaces for new students, sorry *
Jennifer Walsh has over 15 years experience teaching piano to students of all ages (children aged 5+/teenagers/adults). She offers thorough preparation for ABRSM/Trinity grade exams as well as GCSE/A-level performance. She also loves exploring repertoire away from exam preparation with her students.
Piano lessons are always tailored to suit the needs of each individual. In the first lesson, the focus is on understanding each student, what music they enjoy, what their strengths and weaknesses are and the aspects of their playing they'd like to develop. This enables Jennifer to discover the best way to nurture, motivate and inspire each individual to reach their potential.
Since graduating with both Bachelor and Masters degrees from the Royal College of Music, Jennifer has worked with some of the world's most talented young performers. She served on the faculty of the Royal College of Music for several years as a staff pianist and coach. She has also taught and coached at Aldeburgh Young Musicians, New Virtuosi International, Festival Quattro Corde (Italy) and Voksenasen Summer Academy (Norway).
Jennifer has performed across the UK and internationally (Wigmore Hall, Sala Verdi Milano, Oslo Opera House, Rachmaninov Hall Moscow, Xinghai Conservatory China etc) and has featured several times on BBC Radio 3. She has recorded 3 discs of British Cello and Piano Music released by Lyrita to critical acclaim.
