About Jake Mackay
With a Bmus Music Degree from the University Of West London as well as over 12 years experience playing for artists and top bands, I have spent most of my career performing internationally in exotic locations such as Dubai, China, The Maldives, USA, Caribbean and all across Europe, whilst also maintaining one of the busiest UK bands, giving me a world (pun intended) of experience in live performance, band-leading and musicianship.

I am proficient in piano, guitar, vocals/singing, bass guitar and drums. Perfect for someone wanting to learn more than one instrument or groups who want to learn individual instruments (i.e. siblings). Any age group, ability level or location (in-person/online) is fine.
Whether you're interested in becoming a top musician and performer or you're interested in the production side of the music industry, I can teach all the way from beginner through to advanced, with experience and tips in instrument techniques, production skills (Logic Pro), theory, reading and performance/recording skills.
BEGINNERS
Starting out on an instrument can be a daunting and patience-testing process. Taking the first plunge in to it is a big step but the rewards are limitless. Being able to create music from nothing or to perform music for others is amazing and can't really be compared to many other feelings. That's why the FIRST LESSON will consist of important discussions before jumping in to the basics. Why do YOU want to pick up this instrument? What kind of music do YOU like? What are YOUR goals from this? It's important that the lessons are not only informative for you but also interesting and rewarding.
INTERMEDIATE - ADVANCED
Sometimes, you find yourself reaching a stone wall. You're not sure what to do to get past this wall or how to proceed further. This is a position I've found myself in many times. Lacking motivation or any feeling of progression? Not sure how to take yourself to the next level in your playing? Trying to branch out to new ideas but not sure where to start? Lessons are a great place to get help in breaking through those mental blocks or finding new avenues of practice and learning to explore. Whether you're a metalhead looking to get your jazz hands warmed up or an old school blues rocker w...
