About Jack A.
Hi! I’m Jack, an enthusiastic music tutor based in London - over my 10 years of teaching experience I have treated every student individually, working together to emphasise their strengths, improve their weaknesses, and most importantly connect with the whole reason you got into this in the first place - a love of music!
Whether you're just starting out, rediscovering an old hobby, or have played for years but feel like you've hit a wall, we can work on a variety of things to get you moving and improving.
For some this might be a focus on certain songs/styles or working on specific techniques, pointing out things you may not have noticed about your playing, introducing you to new concepts/ideas, or even just learning to play songs you love for pure enjoyment.
As well as teaching both privately and in schools, I am an active professional musician, drawing my teaching from over 25 years’ experience of performing live & in the studio in a variety of styles and settings, ranging from Rock/Metal to Reggae, Hip-Hop to Pop, Jazz to Drum & Bass and all sorts in between. I’ve played up and down the UK, across Europe, from audiences of tens to thousands, as well as been featured on a number of well received albums, EPs & singles.
I am also an experienced audio engineer with extensive experience in recording and producing bands, producing electronica, sound design and mixing for TV/film. My years of practical experience are supported by a BA (Hons.) in Creative Music Technology, so I can offer advice and lessons on production, audio technology (live & studio), as well as tuning/tonal considerations.
