About Isaac
As a dedicated music educator based in the North East of England, I bring both enthusiasm and empathy to every lesson I teach. With over two and a half years of experience in secondary school music education, I’ve had the privilege of working with students from a wide range of backgrounds, abilities, and musical tastes. That time in the classroom shaped not only my understanding of music pedagogy but also my deep appreciation for the importance of personal connection in fostering learning and confidence.
More recently, I’ve transitioned into one-to-one music tuition, a space where I can tailor each lesson to the unique needs and goals of individual students. Whether you're a complete beginner picking up an instrument for the first time, a returning adult seeking to reignite your musical passion, or an advanced learner preparing for exams or performances, I offer a calm, welcoming environment where progress happens at your pace.
I understand that music lessons can sometimes feel intimidating, especially at the beginning. That’s why my approach is rooted in friendliness, patience, and encouragement. I strive to make every student feel comfortable and supported from the very first note. There are no silly questions in my lessons, and making mistakes is not only accepted but embraced as a natural and necessary part of learning. Many students have told me that my calm, reassuring manner helped them feel relaxed and motivated to keep learning.
Professionally, I am equipped to teach a wide range of instruments, styles, and levels. My own musical journey is still moving forward as well as I am still taking music lessons of my own in more instruments focusing on the drums currently, but I believe this to be very important part of being a musician by constantly developing.
My lessons also incorporate musicianship skills—like ear training, music theory, and improvisation—that strengthen overall musical ability and confidence. I believe in developing not just instrumental proficiency, but well-rounded musicians who understand and enjoy the language of music.
What drives me most is my genuine love for music and the joy I find in helping others discover that same passion. Teaching is more than a profession to me—it’s a privilege. There is nothing more rewarding than watching a student grow in skill, confidence, and enjoyment, knowing I’ve played a part in that journey.
