About Ileana
Ileana has taught piano, chamber music, music theory and composition for over 14 years to more than 100 students across Italy, Belgium and the UK, ranging from children as young as two years old to adults. She creates personalised lessons tailored to each student's goals and learning style, covering every aspect of piano playing, including technique, sight-reading, aural skills, musical expression, posture, repertoire, stylistic interpretation and an understanding of the compositional ideas behind each piece.
Her international education and teaching experience enable her to combine the rich traditions of European piano training - Russian and Italian pianistic historic schools- with a modern, student-centred approach, supporting each learner in achieving their individual musical goals.
Alongside her specialist training in music pedagogy, she has additional EXPERTISE IN AUTISM, giving her a deeper understanding of how to support learners on the spectrum and with neurodivergencies. She tailors each lesson to the individual student, using flexible teaching strategies, clear communication and a calm, supportive approach. Her aim is to create an inclusive environment where every student feels understood, motivated and confident to reach their musical potential while developing a lifelong love of music.
She enjoys working with students of all ages and abilities, from young beginners taking their very first musical steps to advanced pianists preparing for ABRSM grades and diplomas (ARSM, LRSM and FRSM), piano performance entrance examinations for European conservatoires and music academies, and other high-level performance goals. Whether building strong technical and musical foundations with beginners or refining artistry and interpretation with advanced students, she adapts her teaching to each student's aspirations, strengths and individual way of learning.
Lessons take place at students' homes within a reasonable cycling distance across Haringey, Enfield, Barnet and Islington, and online.
