Ian has been playing the guitar & songwriting professionally for over 25yrs & teaching guitar for almost as long in many schools, music colleges & privately from home & his studio. Ian has a lot of experience to bring from touring, recording, songwriting and playing the guitar in these environments which each require separate skill sets; from Wembley Stadium to the Dublin Castle, supporting Michael Jackson to fronting his own band signed to Universal Music. Ian is also a much sought-after producer and writer.
His credits include Hrvy whose first single Holiday entered the charts at No 2 and No 1 on Spotify viral chart, Jess Glynne, Callum Scott, Sam Thompkins and Kelli-Leigh are just a few of the artists Ian has worked with.
Ian’s teaching style
Ian works out of his studio in Central Brighton and from his home in Worthing, West Sussex. He loves to teach and to pass on the knowledge and love for music. Ian is committed, reliable, honest and most importantly loves to bring a sense of fun and enjoyment to the focused learning of music. Ian loves to offer full support for all his students - if they're not sure about something he is more than happy for them to contact him between lessons for help or reassurance.Ian has worked at the very top of the commercial music industry and this experience informs a teaching process rooted in the reality of the music industry.
