About Ian
I love teaching the guitar! Whether you are a beginner, a professional, or anything in between, I'd be delighted to help you become the guitarist you want to be! Lessons are geared towards your goals and ambitions, whether you want to simply enjoy playing as well as you can, perform in public, improve your technique or learn to read music better. And if you want to do exams, my students have a 100% pass rate with ABRSM/Trinity! Whatever it is, I'd love to help!

My experience includes teaching at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland from 2012-2022 (appointed at age 21) , the prestigious Music School at Douglas Academy in Glasgow from 2016-2023 and the University of St Andrews Music Centre from 2017-2021. As a player, I have performed across the world, been described as ‘a guitarist of outstanding skill and originality’ (Classical Guitar) and 'dazzlingly virtuosic' (The Herald), and released 3 solo albums for Nimbus.
