About Ian Abbott
Ian is a music graduate with over 20 years of experience teaching piano and keyboard.
He has taught pupils classical piano to ABRSM grade 8 and above. He also offers theory and aural training to assist with taking ABRSM exams (eg grade 5 theory).
As well as classical training Ian has taught many pupils in a less formal way developing their keyboard skills using chords and other methods of playing music.
Ian caters for any age or skill level from the complete beginner to the advanced student.
He believes firmly that each student learns in a different way and has different priorities. He therefore uses lots of different methods of teaching and does not always use the same tutor book (and often no tutor book).
The first lesson with Ian is free so you can check out whether you want to continue.
Ian does not charge for blocks of lessons up front unless students want to do that.
