About Huw
Huw is a professional operatic tenor working for Welsh National Opera and has 25 years' experience as a performer in the industry, and 15 years as a teacher.
His interest in singing began when he was 17. Being the shy and quiet type, the prospect of singing in front of an audience was a terrifying one, but as his skills as a singer developed, so did his confidence. Huw enjoys a rich and varied career as a singer, performing in exciting productions and venues in the UK and abroad!
Huw teaches all ages and abilities, and is committed to giving his students the best training to develop a healthy and robust singing technique, musicianship skills and confidence in their abilities. His teaching style is based on his wealth of personal experience and the latest research in the world of vocal pedagogy. Although highly analytical and technical in his approach, Huw's manner is always good humoured, empathetic and relaxed.
He's very experienced in teaching a range of abilities from beginner to professional and specialises in classical training, including voice type transition and is equally proficient in teaching Music Theatre, Rock and Pop, with a firm technical understanding and experience in teaching belting and screaming etc.

Huw is also a proficient electric guitarist and has enjoyed playing in a variety of different bands and projects over the years, ranging from original material to covers/function bands. He currently plays in a covers band and is experienced in both lead and rhythm work in blues, rock, pop and metal genres. He teaches guitar to all ages including beginner and intermediate levels.
Huw's skillset and experience as a professional singer and guitarist makes him the perfect choice for singer songwriters, band members looking to improve their backing vocals and lead singers wishing to improve their guitar skills.
