About Holly

Holly is a classical singer, having trained at the Royal College of Music, CNSMD (Paris) and the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. She works as a professional singer both here in the UK and internationally.

Holly has 9 years of teaching experience which includes one-to-one private students at home, group teaching, class teaching in schools and coaching within a performance stage school environment. She is currently accepting singing students (beginner-music college level), piano students (beginner-Grade 7) and music theory students (beginner-Grade 8).

As a singer, although her own study has taken the classical route, Holly's teaching style is varied and dependent on her student’s needs. Holly believes that classical singing is the "heavy-weight" category of vocal production; her scientific knowledge of the process of singing can be adapted to any style or technique. For those who are interested in taking singing exams, she has 100% success rate in ABRSM (classical and MT), Trinity Rock&Pop, LCM and Rock School.

As a piano teacher, Holly has spent the last few years collating the various beginner piano tuition books into a “best of” format, ensuring her students a clear and comprehensive foundation before progressing down one of three routes; classical piano, jazz piano or free composition. She has 100% success rate at ABRSM grades.

Holly's aim as a teacher is to help you find your genuine sound and shape in music and to turn you into a confident communicator. Exams can provide an easy framework for progression, but they are not for everybody! For those who would prefer to work on their own terms, Holly looks to mix songs and pieces suggested by you with pieces suggested by her that might challenge or motivate.

Lessons are fun, flexible, and designed around you. All in-person lessons are accompanied by Holly at the piano, or if online, backing tracks will be provided in advance.

Suggested lesson length is 1 hour to include a warm-up, some technical work and then song/piece/performance work. For younger students, 20-45min lessons are also available.

Please get in touch directly to discuss your musical journey!
