About Heidi Pinder

17+ years experience teaching voice and piano. I studied at Conservatorie Paul Dukas in Paris, Masters in Voice in 2008 from Trinity Laban Conservatoire.
I offer voice teaching to students of all abilities and of age 8+. I have experience working with students with additional needs such as ADHD and dementia. I do not currently offer piano teaching.
Lessons take place at my home studio in postcode area G73, at your home within a reasonable distance and/or online. Please send me a message to discuss before making a purchase of lessons - in some cases I will offer a discounted trial lesson!
My availability is flexible from Monday to Saturday between 10:00am and 8:00pm.
Styles & Genres
My classical training provides a foundation for my teaching, and I am a specialist in Bel Canto. I also work in Musical Theatre and Pop styles, however I am versatile across all genres and styles of singing and vocal expression!
First Lesson - for beginners:
During our first lesson we will:
- Adopt a holistic approach
- Get to know you
- Understand your aims
- Ask you to sing a piece to help gauge your level and voice type
- Make suggestions for repertoire that will suit you
First Lesson - for more experienced musicians:
- Adopt a holistic approach
- Get to know you
- Understand your aims
- Ask you to sing a piece to help gauge your level and voice type
- Identify areas you wish to improve
- Technique development including breath control, posture etc
- Introduce developmental repertoire
A little more about me:
I was engaged by several London-based opera companies where I performed the roles of The Mother, from “Hansel and Gretel", Mercedes from Bizet’s “Carmen” and Mrs Hildebrandt in Kurt Weil’s “Street scene”. I was invited to perform in the 2022 season as part of the chorus of a production “Lucia de Lamermoor” by Olivia Fuchs at Opera Holland Park.
In 2013 I moved to Edinburgh where I created a series of Opera Gala evenings. There I performed the roles of “Summer” in Purcell’s King Arthur and toured theatres in Scotland as “Mrs Herring” in Britten’s “Albert Herring”. I participated in masterclass with Malcolm Martineau performing Schubert’...
