About Heather
Heather is a clarinettist and bass clarinettist who particularly enjoys playing contemporary classical and new music. She teaches clarinet and music theory and enjoys making music theory an accessible and fun venture to support students in their practical music journeys.
She is happy to start at ABRSM Grade 1 and move through the material up to and above Grade 5, or to dive in at Grade 5 level for students who need to pass theory in order to move onto Grade 6 Practical.
She likes to apply theory in practice in order to directly help students to develop their practical understanding to give them a solid foundation. This sets them up to be relaxed, well-rounded musicians, free to take whichever path they enjoy the most, without feeling held back by a lack of understanding and knowledge.
