About Hannah Masson-Smyth
I studied the cello at the Royal College of Music under the tutelage of Alexander Boyarsky and during that time participated in many Masterclasses including with Johannes Goritzki, Julian Lloyd Webber and Guy Johnston. After graduating from the RCM, I worked as a freelance Cellist and Cello Teacher; I performed with the Dulcinea Quartet for four years including many recitals in London and two series of concerts in Japan
I have many years of teaching experiencing, both in schools and privately. This includes children ages 3-18 as well as many adult learners. I love helping people to develop their passion for music and playing the cello, whatever their age, and I have even taught beginners who are over 80 and learning for the first time!
In addition, I also love helping young children to explore music through singling, play and movement and offer music exploration sessions for children age 1-5 both 1:1 and in groups
