About Hannah Littlechild
Hello, my name's Hannah! I am a musician with a Bachelor's degree in Music from King's College London and two Master's degrees from Trinity Laban Conservatoire.
While splitting my time between London and Suffolk, I maintain an active freelance performance career as well as a private teaching business. I play with orchestras including Orpheus Sinfonia, London Musical Theatre Orchestra, Brixton Chamber Orchestra and English Touring Opera. A passion of mine is Musical Theatre, and I have been on the International Tour of Phantom of the Opera for the last year.
I have been employed by Lewisham Music Service as a violin tutor since 2023, teaching a variety of group and individual lessons in primary schools. Over the years, I have also worked as a private nanny and tutor, so I have plenty of experience working with children. Through my private students, I have also taught many adult learners to great success.
A first lesson with me is at a discounted rate, and involves quite a lot of talking (with the student and/or parent). I would like to know about my student and what they would like to get from the lessons, so that I can structure a course of action that suits the pupil perfectly. I aim to maintain an enthusiasm and motivation during the lessons, which will promote regular practice in between. With young pupils, I keep a close communication with parents to ensure the child not only practices, but enjoys their practice. With older and higher standard independent pupils, I will encourage a practice diary so that I can monitor their practice and encourage them along the way.
I generally find that a combination of online and in-person lessons work well with my students, to support a versatile learning experience as well as to accommodate for busy schedules. I am also happy to work 100% online if desired!
