About Georgina

George is a vocalist and teacher based in London with 10+ years of experience in singing. Whilst jazz is her specialism, having completed an MMus in Jazz Vocal Performance at University of Southampton with distinction, she has extensive experience in performing other genres including classical, pop, funk and soul.

She has performed both individually and as part of various ensembles including Southampton University Jazz Orchestra and her own band The Gatehouse Quintet at venues including Montreux Jazz Festival, Turner Sims Southampton and The Concorde Club. Most recently, George and her quintet collaborated on a project called SUSPENSION with the renowned London Flower School whereby they performed amongst an immersive floral installation created by LFS students; this performance was live streamed to their 85k followers.

George is an experienced vocal teacher. Her teaching is not only shaped by her experience as a practicing musician, but also from her own research on proven teaching methodologies which she has a personal interest in as she is constantly striving to improve her teaching technique in order to provide the best possible experience to her students.

She is the vocal tutor at Turbelles Performing Arts where she leads two groups of children (ages 3 - 6 and ages 7 - 14), helping them to learn repertoire and develop and understand vocal technique in a fun and engaging way. George also has various 1-2-1 students of varying ages and abilities with whom she teaches on a regular basis.
