George is a professional piano player and teacher based just outside of Leeds city centre. He works with students of all ages and abilities, helping them develop and achieve their musical ambitions. George covers all of the major styles, including Classical, Pop and Jazz and understand the importance of finding what’s right for each student. Every lesson will be personally tailored to you, because everyone is different! Whether you have a clear goal in mind, or are a total beginner just looking to kickstart your musical journey, George will work with you to make this a reality.
George began his musical education aged 7, taking classical lessons from a local piano teacher. He later fell in love with jazz and completed his DipLCM in Jazz Piano before studying at the Leeds College of Music from 2014-2017. George has since established himself as an integral part of the Leeds music scene, performing regularly around the city. His ensembles have and continue to tour extensively around the UK including performances alongside Mercury nominated Shabaka Hutchins and his band Sons of Kemet. Alongside this, George has been teaching Piano lessons for over 3 years. George uses his passion for music to inspire students, helping them work towards their goals. His unique teaching style has helped many students develop at an impressive rate, allowing them to realise their musical dreams.
Teaching in Piano
George primarily teaches piano and keyboard lessons, but also offers music theory and composition help. He currently works with students of all ages, from young children right through to retired adults looking to try something new.
Each lesson is tailored specifically to the student. George works alongside the pupil to help them achieve their goals, whether that be working through the grading system with a more structured plan, or just to enjoy the process of learning to play an instrument for the first time. Focus will be put on developing the core skills that will enable a student to start playing from the word go. Once these first steps have been completed, George works with the pupil to choose how they want to continue learning.
